The SockKids – Solving The Mystery Of Your Missing Socks!
Where do our missing socks go?
Readers find out in our children’s series, The SOCKKIDS. We follow the Socker family through many adventures; from encountering the slobbery mouth of the family dog to meeting Santa as he comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve to helping a fireman save a baby to the most shy Socker going to the school dance for the first time.
Thanks to the time-travel opportunities afforded by the spin cycle of the washer, they learn about some of the most important humans in the world.
Children two and up and their parents will be drawn to the diversity of the family and the universal and timeless lessons they teach: don’t be afraid of new experiences; treat others as you would like to be treated, and of course, beware of the spin cycle!
The SockKids – Helping Humans Cope in a Smelly World!
My Review: Some people think socks go missing in the dryer, but the washing machine is the culprit! In this lovely children’s book, the washing machine is also a time machine. Sometimes a special sock is sent to a special place to learn a special message.
In The Sockkids Meet Lincoln, Stretch travels back to the Gettysburg address where President Lincoln gave his historic address about equality during the Civil War. Stretch learns that President Lincoln treats everyone the same, regardless of what they look like or where they came from.
This is a valuable lesson for all young children to learn. The illustrations were wonderful and eye-catching for both children and adults, and the book as a whole is a great tool for teaching and speaking to your children about tough world issue.
